Hopefully this is a turning point for Clara!!Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05280030426544799743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6203436659236218698.post-71238837921952298402014-08-24T15:29:55.258+01:002014-08-24T15:29:55.258+01:00I think Capaldi was supposed to be channeling Matt...I think Capaldi was supposed to be channeling Matt Smith in the beginning because he had just regenerated and he still hasn't developed his own personality as the Twelfth Doctor yet. You can see at the beginning of each new actor's turn that they're in a hover state between the old and new Doctor for awhile, which is brilliant. It may take a few episode for the Twelfth Doctor to really start branding his personality (I felt Matt Smith was trying hard to be David Tenant for a fairly long time), but I'm looking forward to it.

And I agree this was the first time Clara stands out as a character. I haven't liked the companions too much since Moffat started writing, but last season Clara barely had a personality at all. I'm hoping she'll continue to act as she did in this episode though.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
