CW are certainly getting behind Young Adult books at the moment. The Carrie Dairies (The Sex and the City prequels) by Candace Bushnell will be hitting the small screen in January 2013.
Also, they have ordered a pilot of The Selection by Kiera Cass. I am not surprised at this news, The Selection and the Kiera Cass made a lot of waves when this book was released, (not all of them good waves it has to be said) so it was only a matter of time before some company snapped this one up.
I have not read The Carrie Diaries but loved Sex and the City and I know that a lot of the people behind that series is also on board for the prequel. I have read The Selection (you can read my review here) and I wasn't much of a fan, but I will give it a go. It wouldn't be the first time that a TV series is better than the book behind it (Vampire Diaries).
What do you think of this news? Excited or don't really care?

I own the Carrie Diaries, and read it. It was nice seeing where Carrie Bradshaw grew up, her move to New York, and her eventually meeting Samantha Jones.
ReplyDeleteThanks for following my blog. I'm following yours now too.
I'm just reading The Selection now (will wait to read your review til after!) but I hope I will like it, as I would be curious to see the small screen adaptation of it.
ReplyDeleteI think the news is really interesting - I'm kind of glad as I'm hopeful that it will get more people reading but I'm wary too - nothing could be as good as the books!
