Camden Pike has been
grief-stricken since his girlfriend, Viv, died. He’d give anything to
have just one more glimpse of her. But when Cam visits the site of Viv’s
deadly car accident, he sees an apparition. Her name is Nina, and she’s
a girl from a parallel world. When Cam follows here there and makes an
unbelievable discovery, it’s as if all his wildest dreams have come
true. But things are very different in this other world. Nina is hiding a
secret, and the window between the worlds is shrinking every day. As
Cam comes to terms with the truth, he’s forced to make a choice that
will change his life forever.
This book was just a joy to read, I really loved it from
beginning to end. I thought it was
original, complex, entertaining and beautifully written. When I first read the blurb I expected this
book to be a heart breaker, I thought it would hurt and kill me with angst but
it didn’t. Sure it had its moments but I
never felt overcome with sadness which I thought was a really good thing. This book is about a boy who losses his girlfriend
but finds her again in a parallel universe, yet underneath that I think the
book is about moving on after losing someone and finding a way to carry on
living.
This book was so brilliantly thought out and put together;
there are so many twists and turns and plenty of things I didn’t see
coming. I have to be careful because it
would be so easy to write something that would spoil this for other readers
which is not what I want to do at all because the beauty of this book is in its
surprises. I also have to mention the
ending which I was a massive fan.
I was also the massive fan of the writing. Emily Hainsworth’s writing is descriptive
without info dumping and poetic without being over the top.
The only negative I have is that I didn’t feel like I
connected with Cam as much as I could have.
I found Nina and Viv easier to connect to than Cam. I did really like him so it wasn’t a major
issue but I just wanted a little more.
Through to You is a little piece of magic that I really loved.
