WOW: The Forever Song by Julie Kagawa & The King by J. R Ward

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming book releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This weeks choices are:

Allison Sekemoto once struggled with the question: human or monster? With the death of her love, Zeke, she has her answer.

Monster.

Allie will embrace her cold vampire side to hunt down and end Sarren, the psychopathic vampire who murdered Zeke. But the trail is bloody and long, and Sarren has left many surprises for Allie and her companions - her creator Kanin, and her blood brother, Jackal. The trail is leading straight to the one place they must protect at any cost - the last vampire-free zone on Earth, Eden. And Sarren has one final, brutal shock in store for Allie.

In a ruined world where no life is sacred and former allies can turn on you in one heartbeat, Allie will face her darkest days. And if she succeeds, her triumph will be short-lived in the face of surviving forever alone.

Why I want to read it:

This has been one of my favorite YA series ever.  Yes it is about vampires again but Twilight this ain't.  Julie Kagawa has produced a world full of darkness and pain and characters that you cannot help but love...maybe a little to much.  The Last book ended on such a heart breaking cliff hanger and I NEED to know what happens next and how Allie's story ends.

Expected publication: May 2nd 2014 by MIRA Ink

After turning his back on the throne for centuries, Wrath, son of Wrath, finally assumed his father’s mantle--with the help of his beloved mate. But the crown sets heavily on his head. As the war with the Lessening Society rages on, and the threat from the Band of Bastards truly hits home, he is forced to make choices that put everything--and everyone--at risk.

Beth Randall thought she knew what she was getting into when she mated the last pure blooded vampire on the planet: An easy ride was not it. But when she decides she wants a child, she’s unprepared for Wrath’s response--or the distance it creates between them.

The question is, will true love win out... or tortured legacy take over?

Why I want to read it:
So I will be the fist to admit that sometims the Black Dagger Brotherhood can be a little chessy and over the top but to be honest I don't really care.  I love this series and Wrath has always been my favorite 'brother' of the bunch so this is a must read for me.

Expected publication: April 1st 2014 by NAL
